Just wondering if there is a "agreed on" location to mount some component tweaters?
I read a post here , where it was recomended to put them on the A pillar, and point towards the windshield?
sound has a very distincitive(sp) pattern, bass is non-directional but nething above 60-80hz is dirictional. there a few spots to mount tweeters. one is on the power window/lock panel mounted slightly on an angle. another is in a kick-panel type and since u said component tweeters i take it u have/getting components. there are 2 ways u can go about this, buy a cusom kick from q-logic (look on crutchfield site) or make a custom fiberglass kick-panel. if u want details on making a cutsom kick give me an IM and ill hook u up. the other spot u can mount them is where the wing window and the little curve is (at least on mine, but in that area for urs. u can also mount them with velco on near the top of the door so that its pointing towards u. if i confused u, give me an IM and ill explain it better.
remember sound, espically mids but more the high are dependent on direction to get full affect.
I ended up putting them on the lower part of the A pillar by the dash.
I originally had them at the top of the A pillar but it just seemed to close to my head and was a little to much, I didn't want them on my door switch panel, because with my truck, if it's raining, it seems that panel gets wet.
Got the subs all in, I have each 10" behind my seat, so It seems you really feel the punch.
I'm sure that someone who really knows what there doing could tweak it a little more but for me and my messed up hearing, it seems pretty dam good!
