Wiring Breakdowns
where can i get a wiring breakdown for my 1983 f150 straight six and my 1986 f150 efi 302?(i am putting the straight six in the 86 has anyone done this before can you help?)What do i do with the computer out of the 302 leave it or take it out?

There are very limited diagrams on autozone's website. There are very good diagrams in the back of the Haynes manual you can buy in the store. You could also look on ebay, and you can buy the factory diagrams at www.helminc.com.
If you are using a carbed 300 six cylinder, then you won't need the fuel injection computer. You will need the whole fuel tank/fuel system out of the 83 truck, since the later truck has the fuel injection fuel system and tank.

I have the 1986 EVTM which should help you, I won't be able to scan any of it till probably Sunday afternoon though. Franklin is correct on needing the fuel system from the donor truck as the system is entirely different for EFI vs carbureted. The ignition is also different, EFI uses a TFI IV ignition module on the distributor, the 300 six will have the Duraspark II system. You are in luck though, 1986 trucks came with some Duraspark II equipt engines, specifically the over 8500 GVW trucks with 351 HO or 460 engines, these still had carburetors. The underhood engine feeds plug in on the left inner fender and the EFI harness starts there, or the Duraspark II harness.
