I just installed a new Pioneer deh-2300 Cd player in my 86' F-250 and it sounds great; however, now my dashboard light does not turn on. I did go to the installdoctor web sight and did not find any info as to whats missing. I used a wire harrness connector. and there is one wire from the harness labled dimmer but I dont know where to connect it "if that is the problem". Any help or sugestions would be great. Thanks John.
dimmer wire is usually orange, is that wire on the harness u got or the on that came with the cd player? most likely u crossed a wire wrong, go back and take a look over it again. sorry i cant be much of a help on this. good luck.
Well I got an email from another member here, he thought i might have blown a fuse. I thought I had not but after checking again I had. It seams that when i first hooked up the stereo all worked well untill last night I was going to go to the store truned the thuck on and when I turned on the headlights the stereo truned off. If i turned the heallight off it would work again. Must have had something to do with the two power lines being reversed as you said which cased the fuse to blow. I havent put a new fuse in yet as I checked it on my lunch hour and will replace it tonight but im pretty sure thats the only issue now. I'll let you know if that was the issue once I replace the fuse. Thanks for the reply.
