Well all just got back from a long weekend up at Stoneman Lake area from Phoenix to the camp site 120 miles used only 16 gallons for a net of 7.5 mpg now before anyone balks I was very loaded with my camper that sleeps 4 and 35 gallons of water 40 gallons of fuel and enough supplies for 3 adults and 2 kids. Not bad for a 35 year old truck thats a F-100 at that.
not bad we went to Alamo lake over memorial weekend, 300 miles round trip, 180.00 for Diesel and 165.00 for gas for the boat. might be the most expensive fish fry ever.
Did the Tombstone gig for Wyatt Earp Days. Pretty cool and traveled around there and down to Bisbee in the new 05 Escape. About 90 bucks in fuel.
Did a tire in getting on the 60 at the florence junction, the rest were at about 50%, crappy contentials... So i replaced all four tires with new meats....600 bucks....
The gas mileage is a bit disheartening but I did not buy this truck for the mpg I honestly got it solely for the camper alone. I look at it as an rv not a daily driver so the mileage is somewhat on par. I will be going to a larger tire size asap as well as some new plugs and wires maybe a better coil I have the ignitor installed any recomendations on wires, plugs, coil???
