94 7.3 trans or elec. problems ????
I have a 94 f 250 4x4 diesel with auto trans and o.d. push button on shifter. I've been having problems for about 2 years. sometimes it would start shifting very hard and the light on the shifter would blink, one day I got pissed and punched the dash and the light went out and the trans shifted fine again. Well I thought that was a coincidence. sure enough the next time it shifted hard I punched the dash It worked again so Ive been punching the dash for about 2 years and 20000 mi. Ive had alot of elec. problems with this truck. headlight switch, blinkers, brake light, But now another problem, It starts shifting in and out of o.d. real fast back and forth -back and forth. Punching the dash doesn't fix that, Where should I punch the truck now? lol. I dont want to send it to a trans shop, Ive been ripped off by way too many already, all they want to do is rebuild the whole trans,but I'm not to sure thats the problem. Have any of you guys heard of this or know how to fix it. I could really use some help here I dont have a lot of money to just start parts changing till I find the fix. THANKS BILL B.

Did you pull the codes and see what the computer says?
May just be a bad wire under the truck. It has a solenoid pack that can be replace easily as a unit by removing the pan if that is found to have issues.
You really need to check the codes if you haven't done so, may just be a simple fix and save you a bunch of money in the long run.
If you need instructions to pull the codes just ask.
