Factory stereo from......

Hi;
Are there any special tricks I should know about to remove the factory AM/FM cassette player from the dash? I bought the special "U" shaped tools that are supposed to be used. The thing is ...I insert them into the holes...they click and lock in, but I cant pull the head unit out. I have pulled as hard as I can but the unit wont move. The tools come out. Its almost like its welded into place. Ive never seen one this stubborn, and Ive put in my share of stereos. Is there something I'm missing? Truck is a 1993 F250.

Thanks

When you put the DIN removal tools in the holes rock them outward, to the left and to the right. It should slide right out then!

The tabs might be messed up on the radio. My 2002 SD's radio would not come out using the tool so I took the dash panel off and sure enough the tabs were messed up to the point where there would have been no way to get the radio out using the tools.
