My girlfriend and I decided that we need a (running) truck, and I was able to scoop up a VERY clean 1987 F150 2WD LONGBED for dirt cheap.
The trucks runs great. It's probably the best deal I've gotten on ANYTHING in the last few years.
Here's the question: I bought the truck with the Rear ABS light steadily on. I've been searching thru this forum, but I can't find the answer I'm looking for.
Apparently, there's supposed to be wires coming out of my brake reservoir...but they're not there. The resevoir DOES have the female connector, but I can't find the male connector anywhere.
1. Would this have anything to do with my ABS issue?
2. Where (what wire loom) are these wires supposed to be coming from?
your wires may be loose, they may be just hanging down, its 3 wires with a connector on each one that goes into a plug on master cylinder. mine got loose from the plug somehow. my emergency brake light was on all the time plus my abs light. i kept switching them until the brake light went off when i released the emergency brake. but abs light still stays on. i dont know if they are back right or not. i dont think anyone ever said if it has anything to do with the abs light or not. i do know that a while back w/e i released the parking brake the abs light would go off too. but then it got to where it stayed on all the time. good luck. if you find out let me know too. lol

Go back a page so to thread by purecty. If you scroll down you will come to a super post by F150xlt giving the RABS wiring diagram. You will have to get that sorted out before you go any further. Unfortunately purecty was not able to get his fixed. However there is a lot of good information in his thread which may help you. Also a lot of guys don`t rate the RABS system and prefer to do without it. It`s your choice.
