no 4wd light

no 4wd light
My dad's 2002 7.3 excursion dosent get the 4WD or 2wd light when the transfer case selector is flipped. We hear the t-case motor working and flipping throught ranges, but no light on the dash. All other dash lights work and all the fuses are fine, any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

first of all, just to make sure we're on the same page. The X is supposed to be driving when the OTF 4x4 Hi is engaged. Then, to shift to low range, put it in neutral/park and shift to low range.
is it only the 4x4 light that doesn't come on? Does the low range light come on when in low range?
