I have a 2000 f-250 7.3 4x4 with a five inch exaust and a chip all ready on it and now i want a intake system and im looking at two differnt ones the first one is the AFE stage two magnum force syatem and the other is the airraid intake system with the new battery box and tube two. witch one do you all think is better or is there a better one out there any thing whould help
For the money you cannot beat one of these Napa 6637 filters from fleetfilters.com About 32 bucks and a 3 in long 4 inch piece of pipe and you have a great intake system though it can be loud.
Also the Ford AIS intake can be had for 200 or so dollars and it is alot cheaper then the AFE set ups. Do you have gauges to montior your truck and what chip are you running?
With the napa filter wont you suck in more hot air from the motor or are yall makeing a new box to direct the cold air or just leaving is sit in there. and i do have gauges and i have the ts performance six position chip in it

Let her rip. The temp in the hood is not what you think. When you are moving, the temp is close to what the temp is outside. The only time the temp is higher is when you are sitting at a red light and no air is moving through the front end, or zoodad. Some are making a box to do the cold air thing.
The guys here steered you in the right direction. The 6637 is the best value.
To answer your original question though, AFE filters are superior to the AirRaid. I run an AFE with a Proguard7 and love it. Pricey yes, but I got a smokin deal on it. It was such a good deal, I actually bought an extra Proguard7 filter for ease of filter changing and cleaning. If I had to do it over, I would probably buy the 6637 and buy some more boating toys.
