My New System
What started off as simply "upgrading" the stock system in my 2003 F-350 CC has resulted in this after about 4 months:
Head unit: Kenwood KDC-5019 with Sirius
Speakers: 4 Boston Rally RC820's
Main Amp: Alpine MRV-F340
Subs: 2 10" Pioneer DVC's
Sub Amp: Viper 300W RMS Mono d300.1
Sub Box: Dual 10" "rear firing" that I have firing forward
EQ: Alpine ERE-6180
Enough RCA line to choke a gorilla
Total cost to date: about $3000!!!
Now I'm looking at a 6 disk CD changer to finish up.
The system sounds great and I have learned quite a bit about car stereo installation, phase, gain, frequency...ect. The EQ was well worth the $250. It really gives me a lot of control over the quality of sound depending on the type of music currently playing. I don't think I could live without subs in any vehicle after this. They really add a lot of depth to the sound.
Anyway- what a hobby! (guess I need an alarm now---any suggestions???)

Just looked at your gallery pix. I like the sub/amp box
you built. I am looking at doing something similar, but prob. with
just one 10" sub instead of two. I gotta think that one sub
in a crewcab cabin would be enuff w/ a beefy amp.
As for alarms, I'm not too up on the newest ones. Viper always
made a decent product IMO. After the recent "door lock" issue
discussed in the SD forum, I am thinking about an alarm as well.
And soon!
