Getting started
Hi all,
New member here, in Bloomington, IN area. I'm very excited to find this 61-66 Ford Truck forum!
When I was 17 years old, I bought a 1964 F100 LWB w/292 off of an old farmer for $600. That was in 1979, and I wound up getting the motor rebuilt, doing lots of minor repairs and mods, and sinking a couple thousand $ in it.
While I was away at college, I made the mistake of leaving the keys with a friend who wound up totaling it and I never saw it again (1982). I've longed for one ever since.
Fast forward to 2008 and some semi-serious searching for 64-65 F100s... and I stumbled on a 1965 F100 LWB w/352 for $800. I couldn't pass it up! I was needing an old p/u to haul things around, and never imagined it would be an old 60's Ford. Kind of killed two birds with one stone. Some pics are in my profile.
Anyway, any serious restoration will be slow, as I have little time or money to spare. But, I'm sure this site will be invaluable in that process. I'll check in later, with my VIN and other numbers, as it seems like some of you really know how to parse those.
I've enjoyed reading the posts, checking out the pics, and getting familiar with the site. I look forward to sharing the joy of these old beauties with you all!

A '65 long bed 352...an excellent choice. 
I started out with a $200 truck 20 or so years ago just to haul junk in. Those memories led to the one I have today, which is a bit nicer!
