transmission questions
Hi all,
a few questions.
99 f350 7.3 c/c dually
I run all synthetic fluids, and have a large tranny cooler, also tranny gauge, and will be towing a 15000 lp trailer
how much HP can the stock tranny take before upgrades? I read 500 hp
how about the stock Torque Converter?
How much does a valve body upgrade help?
with the trailer listed above, will my tranny and t/c be safe?
what upgrades if any do I HAVE to make, or in general should I make?

don't know who stated 500 Hp but the trans is the weak link in these trucks but should be good a 300 HP
the trailer you list is no problem as long as the trans doesn't overheat
A performance valvebody is a good upgrade at any HP

for responding, the 500 HP tranny rating came from an article in either
8-Lug magazine, or it was Diesel Power mag.
so you think the stock T/Q would be fine, just get a valve body?
can you recommend one?
