Clock Spring R2'd success

I have been driving my 94 forever without the use of my horn (lazy) and my cruise "FORD"-ever and a day. What prompted me to finally dig in was the need for the use of my cruise (better gas mileage). Yep-I did it and even after the damn normal way to remove our sucky steering wheels had failed me (stripped out). I ended up using a 2 jawed gear puller. There is plastic above the top and bottom areas of the metal steering wheel frame that I had to remove and then I was ok there.

Oh yeah-almost forgot. I also had enough with the damn @@%$%@ leaking ooz coming from the steering wheel itself at the 12 O'clock location.

That tar crap (internal cushion jelly?)-you know what. The way I discovered I even had a problem with that one is that I had gotten in on my right hand-driven into work-itched my face-went into work-and then when they looked at me it appeared as if I was getting ready for the next super bowl. Really embarrassing.

So-2 birds with 1 stone story there.

The price of the clock spring? Are you kidding me. I did a continuity check on one at the junk yard and paid 1 buck only. If anyone is interested it my instructions I could walk you through completely. Even all the way back to the retorquing of your steering wheel which on something like that I always put a "scratched" match mark on for peace of mind the look to see if it tries to loosen up.-----Laterz ---Boz

I've been reading allot of other posts about this topic too. Really nice-but I have exact details example:bolt sizes 4 ea 10mm holding the air bag in, why you need to remove only certain panels and not others etc... I've got all of this still in my head soooooo ask ifin yas wantz 2-don't be shy-its after mid-night-what do you expect

ps-super glue is needed also (not for sniffing either) --no one ever told you that one did they? The grounding clip just behind the ignition cylinder. I could go on and on. Details are a sickness to me. Jet engine mechanic in the Air Force 20 years will do that to you.
