Looking for a new sound..

Hello every one.
Right now both my trucks are packing cherry bombs and well they sound great but..They are to raspy for my liking I like the deep thundering tones.. I have truck's with a 302 and a 460..
I was looking around on youtube for some ideas on the sound I like and the only one I could find was a video of a old chebby with a 383. All the videos of ford's I could find were using Cherry bombs and all had that raspy popin fresh sound. I was wondering do yall have any ideas of some thing that could give me that deep rumbling sound?
Thanks guys

Flowmasters should give you that deep sound without being raspy.

which cherrybombs are you talking about, just curious, the glasspacks or their muffler line.

cause the:

1) cherrybomb extreme (single chamber muffler)
2) Cherrybomb pro (2 chamber muffler)
3) they have like 3 or 4 other mufflers but those were the ones i was looking at when i did my exhaust system (i went with the extreme).

they are pretty much the same as flowmasters for a cheaper price.

if you are only looking for deep only and not really the loudness then magnaflow or borla maybe something more your style but very pricey.

Mufflers just to give you some price ideas on various mufflers.

Thanks guys for your thoughts and time on this.
I'm very sorry you had to waste your time on it.
After my every day driver blew its diff and the new engine is going out I'm getting out of fords for good.
After looking at the Mammoth amount of money I've just flushed in to these trucks I could have just gone to a dealer ship and got some thing new... Thanks you for your help and time over the years but I'm done with ford..

well i had the problems with my ex-dodge engine and front suspension, hence why i'm now on FTE with my superduty (so i feel your pain), anyways Good Luck in finding a ride. With the fuel prices right now you can get a top of the line vehicle for a very good price. wish ya luck!!!

So what, another brand will be any better? Driving a 30 year old truck, things WILL break. How did the diff break? Why is the engine bad? Neither problem is caused by the BRAND, thats for sure.

Good luck either way. Old trucks cost money, regardless of brand. Better stay with something new with a warranty.

Well sure if I had a rich daddy then sure I could get some thing that was top of the line..
No not top of the line thats just stupidity talking. More like a old Toyo or even a old VW some thing that will run for years on end with little to no work at all. So no I won't need much luck at all.

Ya brand has every thing to do with it, if that was the case then why are you driving a Ford?? So ya brand does have every thing to do with it.
And its not a 30 year old ford it has a 4000 dollar engine rebuilt trans.
The damn thing doesn't even 2 grand on the engine and the lifters are going out It's clacking so damn bad I don't even like to start it up.
The other night I had to go to a friends house that lived about 20 miles away and when I came home oil was pouring out of the pinion and behind both tires. The frame and body ya its 30 years old.. every thing else is a few years old. So ya i'm starting to think why every one I know says you better get rid of that F*&^ing ford, so now after tons of money tons of time I have a truck that I can't even sale for 800 bucks. It's a real heart breaker to these trucks are my favorite year truck's ever made by any one and I spent so much time on her just to come out with nothing..
I'm so mad right now i'm about to go out side and just fill the damn thing full of holes then have the scrap man drag them both away.

okay.. top of the line = reliable in my books.. whatever it means in your is your thing. i was wishing just you luck as in finding something good that will provide you years of reliable service with just basic maintance (Im not one of the people on here that jumps on a person for leaving ford, never have never will).. you have to do what is best for you.

no need for the "that is just stupidity" comments though.

i understand you are frustrated on owning a rebuilt engine and trans that has both crapped out on you but that should fall under the guys who supplied/installed the REBUILT engine and trans not Ford (hazards of not buying new parts sadly). With only 2 grand on the clock shoudnt there be a warranty though?

In all reality though Ford got it 20-30 years before needing any powertrain stuff and with the technology they had back then that is about a normal life for that stuff. Heck that is probably the expected life for even the new engine and trans on the market now with the way things are being cut back to save pennies.

it is cool.. like what i was saying i know what you are dealing with. you pride yourself in making your vehicle cool, only to get it pulled out from under you when the mechanical part breaks down to where it gets beyond logical to replace the stuff.

Sorry to hear about the break down. Stuff happens. I had an 01 F150 that i loved alot, it got stolen, and I got taled into buying a Silverado, 9 months later the power steering & brakes went on it so I had to get it towed away to the dealer & fixed for a fortune, couple months later got rid of it and back in the Ford game and I'm much happier. I always had luck with a Ford. Peoples luck varies though.

As for exhaust, if you want a very deep toned with a roar when you want it to, true dual Super 44s. That was the best thing about that Chevy.

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah I loved it. The Super 44 is the best product Flowmaster has came out with. Its not as restrictive as the rest are also, 40 series really choke down exhausts.

More videos are available on my channel YouTube - DarrenWS6's Channel

By the end of the month hopefully I will have that sound again
