Another Gryphon Owner

Well i just ordered my Gryphon programmer. I have just the stock tunes for it, no mods yet. My truck only has 3200 miles so i will wait till it has a little more miles before i get anything else. What tune do you normally run when just daily driving?

I run lvl 2 with the shift firmness increased 7, 5, and 4. Good down shifts and better mileage than stock. Averaging 15.5 mpg in mixed driving.

I thought Bill had been forced by Edge to stop making the Gryphon (reprogrammed Edge)...and that he could only support those that he had already sold

anybody?

haven't heard that. been plenty of guys on another forum ordering new ones and he will even convert your edge tuners to a gryphon so you can get custom tunes. going to order mine tomorrow. think it is well worth it compared to the edge.

check out this thread if interested Thanks PHP! - F150online Forums

think of it this way it is around 399 for an edge, so for a 100 bucks you get 3 custom tunes and the option to change to diff. tunes if needed. tunes are around 50 each so you are actually saving 50 bucks. plus you have all the gauges. pay 395 for a sct tuner then you would need a scangauge for 160 so it is cheaper. this is the research i have done and decided i was better off just getting the gryphon

so if i was to send him my edge unit, how much does he charge to do his "conversion" ? and then, does he offer the extended support ? i have had great edge support, and wouldnt want to have a unit that no one will support.

check out this thread. from what i have read their customer support is top notch. Thanks PHP! - F150online Forums

as far as cost it is 25.00 then 50 dollars per custom tune and it takes roughly a month to get the custom tune.

I have the Edge and bought Bill's custom tunes way back when he was allowed to retune the Edge. His tuning is great. If I were buying right now, I would definitely buy his Gryphon unit.

Many may not know, but Bill originally worked for Edge and was a developer of Edge's software, so he knows what he is doing. He and his wife Corey provide top notch customer service.
