As some of you may know, I just got a new bandpass box. I already have a set of 15" sound activated neons. There's enough room inside the box to mount them hidden. I was wondering with them actually being inside the seal portion, could/would this damage the neons? I was wondering if the tiny little mics (or whatever is used) could handle that kind of volume. Does anyone know for sure (or feel strongly on the issue)?
I know it probably can't be too good for sound, but I can always remove them if I don't like it.
i think i can help here. i went to wal-mart and got the neons from there, the 10"s measure a full 10" for the glass and 15" a full 15" glass. streetglow, liteglow and others use the 10" for overall lenght. personally id go wal-mart kind anyday, have mine 6 months and still as bright as day one. the little **** is use to tell the neon how much sound to pick up, i leave mine 1/4 and it flashes nice.
I already know how they work, I just didn't know if I would blow 'em under that kind of pressure. I figure if I do blow them, I would be replacing them with the walmart ones, because you can't beat them for price and size. The one's I have now are from autozone (before walmart started carrying them) and they've lasted quite a while, so I don't believe in spending the extra dough to go for streetglow, or liteglow or those other more "prestigious" neons when the cheap ones are just as good.
Thanks for your feedback, I guess the most I'm out is $20 to replace them so I'm not too terribly worried.
