It's leaking around the bottom of the gasket? Or it's blowing smoke out around the fittings on top of the valve cover?

The only thing I can think of that you are talking about is oil mist coming out of one of the breathers or hoses on top of the cover. You need to check the PCV valve and make sure it has suction when the engine is idling.

If you head gasket were blown you'd be getting coolant in the cylinders. The oil coming from your valve covers is either the valve cover gasket or the PCV valve is clogged and it building up pressure and leaking from your hoses

Not nessecerily. It depends on how the Head gasket blows.

The Head gasket can b low in any of these combnations...

A: Water to oil.

B: Cylinder to Cylinder

C: Water to Cylinder

D: Oil To Cylinder

It can even cause a oil or water leak to the outside of the engine, with no other symptoms.

Not saying that is his problem mind...

However the question I have is, where is this smoke coming from. From the PCV Valve hole in the valve cover?

From the Valve cover gasket?

From between the head and the engine?

This hasn't been made clear to me. Need to know exactly where the smoke is coming from.
