learned a few useful things
ok, a few months back i got the letter telling me of the recall about the cruise control switch on these trucks, so i took it in to one of the many ford dealerships in the area. the said that it had already been done, so i left.
Just recently i got another letter reminding me of the recall??? this time i took it into a different dealership to have them look at it, they said it hadn't been done???
What the heck???
what if my truck had caught on fire because of it???
I know i should have gotten a written letter saying that it was done, but i didn't think they would out right lie about it.
Im glad its fixed and it fixed the cruise control as well which i was really happy about.
And im really glad that my truck didnt burn because of it.

Yep, my cruise hadn't been working for over a year i think, but now it works fine.
You would think that there taking a big risk by saying its fixed when its not, but i guess i have no evidence other then my memory of taking it there.

There's a second recall on the same part as evidently the manufacturer for Ford fused the wrong side of the switch. I haven't got a letter yet, but my Ford dealer said they're just starting to get parts in.

As far as i know the switch hadn't been touched before yesterday.
i looked at it a few days after they supposedly did the fix the first time, and i didnt see anything different from before, but at that point i didnt know if it was the switch at the brake master cylinder or the switch on the brake lines and i didnt know what they were supposed to do.
This time when i took it in i got the service guy and popped the hood right there in the service area to see what they did.
