Turn signals not working

My turn signals are not working at all, neither are the emergency flashers. First the right turn signal stopped working and I replaced the bulb fuses and flasher. Not only did that not help but a few weeks later the left one stopped. I opened up the column shroud behind the steering wheel. I noticed that there were about 4 of the seven wires not connected to the main plug. I replaced the whole plug and voila, nothing. Can anyone help?
