Thumbs down FTE is sad

I had something in my signature that wasn't allowed and was PM'd by the almighty God Ken. He says he removed it but did NOT. I PM a reply to him and ask what I need to do to keep it in my signature... IE Premium membership or what?
Ken never responds then 24hrs later he bans me, WTF? I asked for help and he ignored it and axed me.

I then try to find out how to get help on this. Finally I get an email from ??? guy, wouldn't say his name. I tell him what happened and he says..."What is the link, and why is it so important your willing to pay 600/1500 a month to have it in your signature?"WTF?

This guy is not worried about collecting money, gaining a customer and supporter but would rather question me... WHY do You want to Give FTE Money.

So we email back and forth a couple times then he doesn't respond. I give it a few days and ask if he got my email, no response and that was almost 2 weeks ago.

There are a lot of good people on here but a few jerks always ruin it for the rest. I left TDS because of poor site management and FTE is second to none in that category.

i have found that people with high post counts get off and people with low post counts get it up the boot, but sometimes it worth it with all the good info here. but i agree that when admin do something they should explain it to you first and be willing to talk about it.

to the OP:

It sounds (from your post) that you might be a vendor, or have something for sale.

is that the case?

as far as Brady's comments, I've got my fair share of spankings here. I believe some of the others with large post counts have as well

As much as anyone would hate to say there is favoritism on a forum, the business reality is that those who stick around pay the bills. This forum has seen literally hundreds of thousands of flash-in-the-pan members--people who never post and leave or make just a few posts and then leave. Usually, they only ask questions and "take"--they don't add much like some of the high-post-count users do day in and day out.

Jason (only had a couple very mild slaps on the back of the hand, but I have had zero problems with how things are run here)

I suspect it was because, if I remember correctly, Soaggydogg was selling raffle tickets in his sig line to a raffle on another truck site.

I wondered about it at the time if he wasn't going to get asked about it.

Soaggydogg,

Internet Brands paid a pretty-penny for FTE, and like-it-or-not, that gives them the right to have some control over the content herein, especially when it's something that attempts to re-direct their "customers" to a competing site.

Doncha' think? Or is this a "freedom-of-speech" issue for you?

Airing a grievance in an open forum is really not appropriate. There's also two sides, at least, to every story and I suspect your story is slanted... a little.

Maybe I just don't understand why people get so worked up about their signature!

Jake, you're a trouble maker so you deserve the whooppin's!!

Now, for some truth. Folks who get banned seem to be very good at painting one-sided pictures.

Your signature was linking to a product raffle you were hosting. Raffles, unless they are through registered charities, are illegal in most states, and certainly illegal across state lines. Second, since the link was to something you were going to profit from it is clearly not allowed. Only sponsors may use the site for commercial promotion. Club FTE membership does not make you a sponsor. Besides, the site wouldn't allow a non-charitable raffle through a sponsor either.

Lastly, the guidelines say that ANY violation of the non-commercial guidelines results in immediate suspension, so the fact that you got any warning in the first place means FTE gave you an opportunity to fix it.

TDS is intolerant of anything they consider irrelevant.

FTE has options.

BOTH are well managed, but FTE has a great deal of flexibility.

So I have found, and who am I?

Just another poor broke retiree.

It seems strange to me that I should be popular at all...
