Well, it's a long story but I had trouble after trouble with CC and BB getting a sub, box, and amp. So when I finally got everything and went to have it installed at a local Audio place I found out they sold me the wrong size box. I ended up buying what I thought was going to be a Cerwin Vega 10" sub for 60 bucks, but when I came back found out they put in a Cross-Fire? Same price but was curious if I got screwed because someone later told me they screwed this other kid by selling him 13 year old amps. I got the box and everything with it so i suppose I could complain if I did indeed get screwed but it says they're made in the U.S.A., that can't be too bad can it?
You really gotta watch some of those local audio shops. They'll get you when they can. Its not like the old days when people knew what they wanted and manufacturers made quality stuff. Today's audio world is full of hype and propaganda. Its all about mass production and big profits. That's why I can't stand even walking in some of those places anymore.
It has been my understanding that cross-fire was a cheap product. This shop in my town trys to sell you kicker first and then cross-fire if you seem thrifty. Cerwin vega on the other hand makes some nice stuff and charges accordingly. I doubt you would pick up a nice CV 10" for $60, especially with a box and from your local audio shop. The shops in my town want $75 for a box minimum. I would try to get the vega if possible.

I STRONGLY disagree with this statement. I challenge you to bring any woofer to the table against my Crossfire BMF XT15Fs. They hold their own against the best subs out there. And their amplifiers are some of the best as well. Please do some research before you go bashing product you know nothing about.
I couldn't find any threads, but I know that many shops make very little profit. As Dave from Excel Audio asked, who will hold all the events when they go out of business?

Please tell me what is wrong with the equipment currently in production. Were the RE XXX, Adire Brahma, or ED SP around in "the old days?" Were there multi-thousand watt strappable amps in "the old days?"
