Dyno Tune?

Dyno Tune?
Hey all I was just wondering if I need a specific tune to dyno my truck or can I just use 3rd gear and have a formula to figure out the hp and torque at the wheels if it was in 4th where everything is direct? The dyno day is Saturday and Sunday in Frostburg MD, 9am-8pm if anyone else is interested in going also. Thanks for the help!

You should have a dyno tune. You can do it with a regular tune, but like everything else, if you have a tune specific for the dyno then your truck will perform more efficiently given that venue.

Evan can write you a dyno tune that locks the transmission in direct drive (1:1) so you can get an accurate reading. Depending on who the dyno operator is and their experience they probably already have enough knowledge to deal with it. If it's David Dunbar then he will be able to operate your truck in a more than capable manner to get you good numbers.

when i had my truck on a dyno i used my regular custom Hybrid Race tune and the operator did it with the truck in drive. next year i will try to get a dyno specific tune in time.
