Any you tire experts out there! I am replacing the tires on my 1997 F150 Extend Cab 4x2 with either the Michelin Cross Terrain or the Michelin XC-LT4 tires. I want a smooth, quiet ride, but yet good on wet roads. I went to the Michelin web site and all kinds of info on the Cross Terrain, but could not even see the XC-LT4 tire listed. I saw both of the tires at the dealer and both look good, had comparible tread, and the price was pretty much the same.
Look forward to any comments.
The XC-LT4 is produced by Michelin for Sears and other retailers, and won't be mentioned at the Michelin website. The tire pattern is similiar to the LTX A/T, but not quite as agressive. I haven't seen the Cross Terain, but it may be similiar. I installed these on my 98 F150 Ext Cab 4X4 last month, and I'm real happy with them. They ride quiet, and are surefooted in the rain (especially here in Florida). I haven't been off-road much yet, but the little I have, they ride good in the dirt. I paid $130 each for 265/75/16 at Sears.
sounds good,, the goodyear rts on older fords chop and dont last due to frame. they make a special goodyear tire for these fords that u dont have to rotate... i have a 99 f150 with goodyear ats,,, aquatread,, they slide all over,, so much for top of the line tire,, plus had two flats with nails going in the big water gap. tell u the truth,, dont see to many fords with michelins on them. check with bridgestone.
