Hissing noise
I have a 2005 Nav. For the last couple of months I have been having a hissing air sound comming out of the dashboard ?. The only thing that makes it go away is pressing the brake. ?????

Two things come to mind. One, and I'm not sure if this applies to your models or not, but some cruise control systems have a vacuum switch tied to the brake pedal down under the dash. This aids in quickly stopping the cruise control vacuum actuator from holding the throttle open. Two, there is a rupture in the internal diaphragm of the power brake booster. You could disconnect and plug the vacuum hose from the booster and see if the hiss goes away.

If equipped with an emergency brake vac release then it could be that as well, but suspect Alloro is right on the the cruise control actuator.
It should be easy to spot once you wiggle you way up under the dash to look and listen for it, if it is not the power booster.
