truck value?
any idea what my truck is worth? i am going to sell it and buy a 1999-up powerstoke 7.3 my main selling reason is to get a 6 speed. a local used diesel dealership is selling a 1997 super cab thats not as slick or fixed up as mine with 138,000 miles on it for 12,900. any ideas what to expect
A)trade value.
B)private sell.
this is with the new rims
1997 Fresh auto rebuild, nice and clean inside/out, captains chairs, 181,000 miles NO RUST, ANYWHERE slick paint, cowl hood, rims, superchip tuner, Down PIPE, straight pipe, K+N cold air intake gauges, (to be removed)
new water pump, dries great, sets in road perfect at 95+ mph, 2 inch blocks in back, add a leaf up front, all accessories as seen in picture, 18.5+ mpg's on the road, 4.10 gears, ice cold air, power locks, windows, nice CD player, gooseneck, reese hitch, really good truck, i just want a gear box. its a 4x4 off road, manual locker hubs. has had GP's. new rebuild on starter, starts and runs great. i was offered $12,000 on trade for it awhile back. it will drip/use 1 quart of oil in 5,000 miles.

i figure trying to trade on a new 99 up i can expect offers anywhere from $6,000 to $10,000 now, depending on the markup at that dealership, and what i'm trying to trade for, and how much they like the accessories, ect. but, what would be a good price to set as reserve and buy it now on ebay? and what would be reasonable to put it in truck trader for?

Why are you wanting a 6 speed? If you are after fuel mileage, that won't do it. The 6 speed just have a deeper first gear with the same overdrive. If you are looking for a better overdrive, you should keep your truck and concider a Gear Vendors, or US Gear unit. But if you just want a stick, then press on. But like stated before, selling our trucks now is gonna be hard with fuel prices like they are. And I would never look to get anything out of your mods. Most people are looking for stock trucks. Mods only make people leary of the health of the truck. Just my opinion.

If your truck is paid for, dont sell it. Things are going to get WAY worse before they start to get better. Its a payent you wont like. No better MPG. Higher insurance. Loss of history. Its like trading a old cuda for a new vette. The new one may perfprm slightly better, but your losing your originality, your giving up a piece of history, and since I made a living with my truck for 3 years, its become part of the family. Youll appreciate things like that when you get older.....LOL

The economy varies some with local conditions but around here the value of pick ups, especialy big ole honken 4x4 diesel pick ups are dropping faster than a lead ballon. Knock about 5 k off of that trade price and you MIGHT get a passer by to stop and look if parked along a busy hiway. I am not knocking your truck, as a matter of fact I am envious of it but there are so many trucks like that and newer for sale around here it is unreal, the roads are lined with them for sale and nobody can afford to drive them, its a shame.

?????? Why would you call madvan that?? I dont know him, but have read a few of his posts to know when it comes to a tranny, he does know it all, and I think he was pretty upset knowing that the hack that two stroke had do his truck was trying to cheat a member. Is that about right, or am I misreading entirely what you wrote???
