my truck has a rebuilt 5.8. where would I find the casting numbers. this is not the original engine. I don't think it has the e7 heads.

Head casting numbers are on the head gasket side, so you can't see them unless the intake is off or the heads are off the motor. The block casting numbers are usually at the rear near the oilpan either on the side of the block or the flat surface by the oilpan.
