4x4 issue

4x4 issue
I've got a 1994 Ranger 4x4, 4.0L, 5spd, that isn't engaging the front wheels. The 4x4 low does change the gear ratio, but won't engage the front wheels. 4x4 High does nothing at all. There is no clunking or vibration with it turned on. We believe the 4x4 motor is engaging, but we don't know what is wrong, so we're hoping that ya'll can help us out.

Try this. Jack up the front end and manually turn the front driveshaft to see if the front hubs engage.

they are auto hubs, just trying to get an idea of what to look for, the truck is back home, 2hrs from where I'm at now, so in a couple weeks when i go back home, my dad and I were gonna look into it, so just trying to see what everybody else has had happen.
And Bob K. the only difference between mine and that one is there is no grinding noise when engaged, I get absolutely nothing out of it. So it could be ground out, or just that far out on spacing. Hopefully it is spacing, we'll see in a couple weeks and I'll let ya'll know what we find.

when you get the 4x4 to work u should use it ever once and awhile just so things get stuck together. when i got my truck it was really hard to use intill i played with it alot then it seemed to work alittle better after time.
