<TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top>I have a 65 Frame w/ a 63 chassic and have manual steering. I found a complete 72 Power Steering Box, Pump, Brackets, and Column all out of the same truck. My question is do I use the 72 Pitman Arm or does it have to use the original arm used from the 65. Also the shaft diam. are dirrerent is size.

I used 72 power steering parts on my 65, those were the gearbox, pump, pump mounting bracket, lines, and the steering column. Everything was a direct bolt on, I left the arm on the gearbox and used the tie rods that were already on my 65. In all it took a couple hours to bolt all the parts on, part of that was waiting for the paint to dry on the column so it would match the color of my pickup.
I would also get the left hand engine perch as the ones on power steering trucks was bent slightly different where it mounts to the frame. The power steering gearbox is a little longer and it interferes with the non power steering perch. I did use the non power steering perch with the power steering gearbox but it was a pain to get installed. I would not recommend it as you will have some choice words and get very frustrated with it.
I am not sure how all that works with a 63 cab mounted on a 65 frame, but I can tell you that the parts listed above will bolt right up on a 65 frame with no modifications required. I take that back, the steering column mount on the 65 is on the top of the column where the 67-72 mount is on the bottom. You will either have to run spacers and longer bolts or cut the mount and move it to the top and re-weld it. I chose the easy way and used spacers and longer bolts.
