I have heard so many different things on the different brands of motor oil. I usually use penzoil but is there a major difference in other brands and which are considered better?
Thanks, Shane
Truck has 71,000 miles
welp.. check out the oil forum..it's fun sifting through the opinions...my current truck had 126,000 when I got it, Pennz and Fram @5k intervals it's entire life..it was not horrid inside.. no sludge, but a pretty heavy varnish. I ran some seafoam in the crankcase for a little while, and switched to Royal Purple, with Pure 1 filters, and it is beautiful inside now at 145,000.
If you change your oil at a reasonable interval, with almost any quality oil, it will be fine.
Walmart sells Motorcraft oil filters for 4.00 or less.
I use Castrol in my higher mileage trucks, Walmart's Supertech is also affordable and made by a brand name manufacturer - but I can not remember which one - Quaker?
