Questions????

I work with a guy that has a 2000 f250 7.3 and his truck runs like its got a programmer or something done to it. He bought it,and the only thing I can see is that it has gauges. He hasn't done anything to it at all, matter of fact,he has my programmer on it now,and it runs even better, but it is throwing alot of black smoke out. Is it possible that it has something internal done to the motor?

Internally? I doubt it.
More likely it's dumping fuel (black smoke) because that's what it's programmed to do...

possibly a leaking injector, but I doubt it because you said:
and it runs even better
if these things have a bad injector, you can't see out of the rear-view mirrors.. two bad injectors, the mirrors fall off...

It runs like it has been tuned, plus propane injected or something. I have never been in a 7.3 that runs like that.

It may have a chip in it, did you look at the pcm before you started running a programmer on it?

He told me that there wasn't anything programmed on it, plus, if it had a tune, wouldn't it have thrown a flag somehow while installing mine?

Yes, I agree. Edge are junk, BUT, I have it for now, until I get a DP for it. I use it only for MPG at 4.70 that is very important....
