You can try some wd40 or some type of solvent, and hope it makes it's way down the shaft. Otherwise, you might have to take it out. That can be fun too, since they sometimes stick from the gum inside the engine. Wiggle the rotor and see how much play is in the dist shaft. If there is a lot of play, you should go ahead and replace the dist, or it might start giving you problems down the road. If it wobbles around too much, the gap from the pickup to the little wheel changes too much.
