95 Starts Sometimes

First posting here, probably many more to come. I have been reading through these forums for some time and just purchased a 95 PSD with 110,000 miles. First off, I only use the truck on weekends. Recently, when I go to start it, it turns over but will not start and the batteries drain down where I have to recharge them. It then starts, not always on the first try, and runs good. Do the batteries not have enough juice after setting all week for it to start? I remember reading somewhere about the tach not moving while starting. My tach moves but very little (200 RPM) when not starting, haven't noticed if it moves more when it does start. Is it a sensor somewhere that may be going bad where it will start on occasion? When it does start, it does so right away. Also, maybe about 30 seconds after start up that white smoke comes from the exhaust, is this normal? After that, haven't noticed any smoke at idle or when being driven hard. Thanks in advance.

Maybe it,s time for new batteries or maybe you have something draining the batteries

maybe get your batteries load checked see if they are good or bad
