Hi. I am a missionary (Canadian) living in Chile. I recently sold my 1971 F-100, (not too much rust problems here!) and bought a 1996 E-350 Powerstroke. I have a drive shaft problem and am wondering where I can ask for help on it?
Better if I give some details. When I bought the van, I found that it had damage at the aluminum casting where the drive shaft slides in. The frame member supporting the casting was bent up about 2 inches, and the casting had been welded. We straightend the frame member, put in a new bushing, but it lasted little time before the bushing heated up and seized. Looks like no lubrication getting to the bushing. How is the bushing lubricated? Is there an internal duct coming through the casting, that might have been blocked when it was welded? Thanks for any help! DRodgers
P.S. it is a E40D transmission
