I love that body style. So do you mean its in arizona and you live in buffalo? the 5.0 is a good motor. Your gonna have a ttb d44 front axle, and a 8.8" rear axle. Neither are terribly great for offroading if your running anything bigger than 35" tires. Probably going to have a borg warner 1356 t-case, maybe a np208 not sure on that one.
Nothing that is really a major issue on these trucks the main on that come to my mind is non working tailgate window but its not to expensive to fix. No bum trannys or bad motors drive lines are pretty good especially if you run stock tires occasions electronic shift T-case troubles but again nothing major they are great old trucks in my experince.

I have an 88 302 as well. They are good rigs but every old truck can have it's problems. To be honest, I don't think there is a part on my truck I have not had to replace or fiI have over $13k in Autozone/Checker/Pep Boys/junk yard reciepts to prove it) and it still burns rich! But there are some that are unstopable. Just depends on how it was treated before. Enjoy!

Really? I have a 88 and it is my least favorite body style. Ha ha. My favorite is the 80 to 86.
This ruck was in Arizona its whole life. Its been in Buffalo for a year or so. I really want to do rust prevention. This thing is emaculate. I dont want the salt to ruin it. It has a couple blisters on the front. I used to paint and I still do body work sometimes so I am not worried. But the undercarriage is so nice. What do you guys recommend? Should I take it somewhere to be undercoated??
