I have it from a pretty reliable source that the next generation Super Duty 4X4's will have IFS. 350 DRW's and the 450/550 will still have 'Monobeam' front drive axles. There are supposed to be some very valid reasons for this (complaints on ride and handling, need to lower the front for crash standards?). Of course, 2011 is still a ways off, and things change.......
If they do that they will loose a ton of customers that like the 3/4 ton with the staight axle. If i'm in the market for a truck when that happens, well i guess i will be looking at a dodge or chevy. That right there is one reason I have stayed with ford. the simplicty of the solid axle is great. Its a truck, and is supposed to ride like a truck not a caddy!

I too would rather have SOLID FRONT AXLE, thats why I have a Super Duty. If anything I guess than I would have to get the F-350 DRW next time, even though I dont tow much at all.

FORD Will have a straight axle Everyone, It will just be a F350 Single or DRW
They are just offering the Option
I dont need a F-350, I would hope they still offer it in a f-250? Unless of course the ratings keep going up on the F-150 therfore not having a F-250 anymore?
The F250/350 Ride the same now , So If you want a Straight axle F250. ReBadge your new 2011 F350 as a F250 Done and all is well .
Or FORD Might do it for you
If people don't get it. Ford will just Slap the F250 Badge on the F350 themselves and call it a H.D F250 Snow Fighter. If That makes you feel better.
IFS actually offers better handling than Solid. Plus it would it would help greatly with our balljoint issues. Chevy front ends actually hold up prettly well. The older I get, the more I lke a smoother ride.
