SO LAST NIGHT I WAS WORKING ON THE TRUCK CHANGING OUT MY FAN CLUTCH AND CLEANING OUT THE FUEL FILTER FUEL SCREEN. AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FUEL FILTER HOUSE WAS A LOT OF RUST SO I SCRAPPED IT OUT AND TRIED TO GET AS MUCH OF IT OUT AS POSSIBLE. iN THE PROCESS I HIT THE LITTLE WIRE THAT SITS ON TOP OF THE PLATE AND ONE OF THE LITTLE ANOIDS FELL IN AND THE WIRE GOT BENT SO I FISHED THE ANOID OUT AND SET IT BACK IN ITS SPOT BUT THE WIRE DOESENT SIT COMPLETLTY FLAT ACROSS THE ANOID LOOKING THINGS.
I DROVE THE TRUCK THIS MORNING AND IT FEELS LIKE A NEW TRUCK I DONT KNOW IF IT IS CAUSE THE FAN CLUTCH OR THE WHAT EVER I DID TO THE FUEL PUMP BUT NOW THE TRUCK RUNS LIKE NEW. MY ONLY QUESTION IS WHAT IS THAT RING AND ANOIDS FOR AND WHAT I DID WILL HURT ANYTHING ANY ANSWERS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
I just lost one of mine in the bowl also. I just put it all back together and it is fine, no problems. The wire is the heater from what I understand. You can unplug the heater if you want but you should be just fine. You run better because you cleaned the screen and got a new filter in my opinion.
Its your fuel heater. Unplug it.
The little pads that the wire is on are like little resistors.
They change the current flow for the heater as temp changes.
Cool, Ya I was freaking out because I didnt know what all of that was and I am new to the whole diesel thing. I am finding that i am starting to get a case of PMS though.
