So.. I love my truck, but now with fuel costs it's not a great daily driver for me anymore. So I'm taking the wife's 07 Jeep Compass and tonight we got her a 02 Tahoe Z71. Very clean and I can't wait to take it some days. Previous owner bought everything possible in the Autozone add on area (door edge protectors, lights, bug deflector w/ window rain guards.. and more.
Anyways, the Compass is a total chick car, but it gets 23 mpg. I'll still drive Big Red once in a while, but time for Injectors and Turbo now!
I hear ya, if I didnt drive my truck for work and have a company fuel card it would most likely be parked......diesel is 4.89 a gallon in central oregon.
Same here. Mine is not going to get driven near as much. I will driven my wife's Nissan Altima. 30mpg gasser. I cant argue with that. Let just hope and pray that these fuel prices start dropping.
yeah on Mother's Day weekend we did some traveling to see family. Took my girlfriend's Ford Escape .. nice little ride but after the weekend it was KILLING me not having Loretta !
hey TNT, (sorry for the thread hijack) but is the streer racing scene still alive and well in round rock? I was stationed at Hood for most of the 90's and used to head down there pretty regular on my bike or in my 85 GT with a 351W for a little heads up fun.
Wow man that's sad. I feel for the day that I have to leave the truck at home. It's so nice to have my truck at work since we need to carry parts for big rigs and of course it's very comfortable to drive.

I have learned that if i stay between 50-60mph, I can easily get over 20mpg. Some people try to run me off the road, but F-em. I am usually bigger. There is nothing funnier than someone in a neon tailgating me. They start flashing the lights and getting real close trying to be intimidating,
I'll keep driving slower, plus, I have started making bio. Like Mark says, diesel would have to be 2x as much as gas for me to ever consider getting rid of my truck.
