Muffler/Exhaust!?!?

Whats up everyone, I am thinking of upgrading the old exhaust on my '03 F150 FX4, and I was hoping someone out there could give me some advice on whats good and whats not. I have noticed that Ford has been putting Magna Flow exhaust systems on the factory lifted trucks.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Chris

Cherrybomb extreme about 55 bucks a piece from jegs either for a direct muffler replacement on the factory pipe or if you decide to do a single in dual out setup. Also it is about the same as the flowmaster 10 series which means a one chamber muffler for a whole lot cheaper.

other will say Flowmaster (various mufflers to pick from), magnaflow, borla (as said above), Dynomax, . just a few off the top of my head but i all comes down to personal preference on the type of sound you want and the loudness.

When I got my 2000 about a year ago, first thing was a new Magnaflow and I am more than pleased with it. Has a nice rumble at lower speeds and at cruise it is quiet. Sings when you get on it. Just what I was looking for. Jim

I was just on troyers web-site and they have a si/do for our trucks with a magnaflow muffler for $200.00. Anybody tried it? How can you beat it?
Sounds good to me. Aluminized but it should last a few years.

Goerlich Xelerator. Very loud (without cats), and a much smoother/better sound than Flows...

The Borla is quiter than the Magnaflow but I did not want that "Nascar sound" but I am in the truck for long periods and after awhile the drone bothers me. Over stock saves about 25lbs. You will be suprised how big and heavy the stocker is...

$200 just for the muffler? Too much if you ask me. I got my Borla (stainless) with a stainless tip installed for $150 at a local muffler shop. The quote for a Flowmaster was less, $120 installed if I remember correctly
