Aluminum Block Flathead V8

Can anyone shed any light on the aluminum block Flathead V8 engines that were made in the 40's? Supposedly only 10 were made. Any information or direction for knowledge would be appreciated as well as the possible value of one that is in good condition and running well.

Rumor going around that someone is makeing some new flathead blocks and some will be aluminum, would be nice if it is true. Where in NM are you located?

Aluminum Block Flathead V8

I am in Eastern New Mexico Clovis/Portales area. This engine has been in this truck for ages and is in a private collection so it wouldn't be a recent thing. It's the real "McCoy" and I have heard that it is possible that only 4 of these are left in existence of the original 10.
