Turbo differences
hey there guys I have a question about the differences between the early 99 turbo and 99.5-03. I was told by a guy at thoroughbreddiesel that the early 99 turbos are way better. He said that they were 2 stage where the 99.5 and on are only single stage. I haven't the slightest clue what he's talking about. could you guys fill me in thanks.

Early 99's have a larger (very lightly) compressor housing and a stepped compressor wheel (called a WW by most who sell it)...
There is nothing better about the early 99 turbos, infact it moves less air then the later ones.
People swap in the early 99 wheels on there newer turbos because it helps fix surge sometimes.
