Overhead Console Computer Programming?
I want to thank everyone for the previous posts on how to repair the existing ones, but I think mine may beyond repair, no luck with re-soldering.
Does anyone know if the new ones from the guys on Ebay are reliable, or if their prices are much better than a local dealer? Also, does a new computer take any programming to make it work, either the compass or fuel mileage?

Can't speak for all the Ebay vendors of course, but seller ol.bird seems reliable. And he knows what he's talking about.

As for programming, you have to calibrate the compass for your location but nothing else should be needed.

For the miles-to-empty to function properly the computer must be programmed for the tank size that you have. This must be done with equipment normally only found at the dealer. If you are lucky, the tank size it comes with as default might match yours, but I don't know what the default is.
