ac works sometimes

My ac only seams to work when my exterior temp is working correctly, anyone else ever had this problem?

I wouldn't expect it to effect the compressor cycling. First thing to do is check that the clutch engages and the accumulator cools down.

There's some convoluted interlock between the exterior temp, the AC, and everything else.

Is the exterior temp just a sensor gone bad?
