Wiring issues and solutions

Well after reading what Sam_Fear said I guess it is time to ask for what problems you have had and where you found your problem. My plan is to make a flow chart to follow with links to a wiring schematic and pictures of the physical location of the item in question. Microsoft Viso should make this interesting since I haven't used it that often. Correct me if I am wrong but 61-64 wiring is pretty much the same where as 65-66 are slightly different. Would I need to make a seperate one for them or do you think most would understand the similarities? I might need some help with gathering pictures from time to time. ugh... this seems like it will be a monster of a project. But hey I like difficult things, just ask my wife. She tells me that all the time.

Well being electrically challenged myself, this would be really cool. Not sure I'll be able to make any more sense out of it than a normal wiring diagram but will be fun to see KUDOS!

Here is a schematic I made up for myself when I was rewiring my truck. May not be 100% complete, but I believe what is there is correct for a '63 F100. I was also limited on colors, so I don't know that the wire colors are quite right either.

Uh, here:

Unfortunatly, I don't have webspace for the full version. I also have it in PDF (which is better).

I am a step ahead on the wiring schematic. I have a stock one that my son and I colored in a while back. We pulled it from a website and we used MS Paint to color code the wires properly. I submitted a fuse panel install article to FTE over a year ago and it hasn't posted yet. I think that was during the site ownership change so it fell through the cracks so to speak. It was an ok article on how to take the fuse block off of the headlight switch and mount it on the firewall so you can actually get to it without bending over backwards. If interested I can send it to anyone via email. Just PM me with where you want me to send it.

That would be great if that tech were posted, or even just the diagram would help a lot of people. I had forgotten about those schematics on The Old Car Manual Project. I used them a lot too - may even still have them downloaded on my computer somewhere! The reason I made my own schematic was so I could change it to suit my truck - I put in a fuse block and put my headlights on relays, along with several other additions.

It might be good to have a list of color codes for the different years too. Sometimes ya just want to know what that one loose wire is. I've got the original shop manuals for 61-63 I can copy the info from.
