Welcome to the forum.. You do get SES light (service engine soon)? It would be great if you could have someone read your fault codes with a compatible scanner for our engines.. The ones at AutoZone, etc. don't work..just noticed you are from Australia. You probably don't have AutoZone part stores anyhow. Have you ever had your valve covers off? My 99 had a loose connector under the valve cover and had a miss.. That is a easy fix, if that is the problem..

Welcome to FTE Thomas. What are your outside temperatures when you are having this problem? Do you notice any sounds when the truck is having these problems?
What kind of oil are you using, how old is the oil, and is it full? The injectors are fired off of engine oil so proper, clean, full oil is a must.
