hi guys...first tread on here.
i am trying to replace the fuel filter on my 97 f250 hd. i bought the tools to slip in between the filter and the line...goes in fine, but it will not let the line off of the filter. i even tried pryin g and wiggling the tool and nuthings working....any ideas?
ok well i got the back one off after fighting will it for quit some time, but i cant seem to get the tool all the way into the coupling or what ever it is so i am pulling hair out here, any advice would be appreciated!
More beer. One of these times when you go out there and do it, it'll just pop right off. That's what mine did. I don't think there was anything magical or different the 20th time I did it, it just popped off. Sorry I can't be of any more help.
Well I Ran Out Of Beer And Cant Even Get More Know!haha But I Have Tryed Pushing The Line Into The Filter And Going The Other Way With The Tool...just Doesnt Wanna Go In That Wisker That Will Let Her Come Free...seems Like The Tool Is To Big For The Font But Was Perfect For Back....do I Need 2 Differant Sizes?
well i finally got the line off...and low and beholed there was what seems to be a bering or gasket retaner rusted to the filter so i but it back into the line, then the line wouldnt click back on, so i bent out the 3 prongs again clickes it on, when to start in up and dumped about 1/2 of gas onto my driveway...new fuel line or can i just replace the gasket in the line?
well i dont belive in the " if you cant fix it duct it" method, but the quick connect held up fine....but the rubber braided part didnt, dry-rotted from the inside out, and sence i cant get a new fuel line at and auto parts store (not yet avalible) i had to have a buddy of mine put a ballon flare on the line and double clamp the high preasure hose till i have the time and money for the new line i have to get from the dealer. seems to be holding up just....for now
