Y Block Value??
They are not worth much because they are not popular anymore. I bought a Merc 312 in 68 for $25 and a Ford 312 in 74 for $35. At that time an FE was going for $100+. If you can find one it should be cheap. A much more practical engine to drop in anything these days is a 302/351W. I am still a Y fan and never pass up a chance to see one all polished up in a classic Fairlane or T-Bird. Unfortunately, like the flathead, the Y's time has come and gone; parts availability, oiling problems, and soft valve seats are all challenges. Unless originality is a factor, consider another option. If you find a good deal on one however, go for it. The best Ys are the 57 312s (big valves and 245 hp).
