Can anybody help me with the location where the horn/horns might be located, also the wire color for them comming out of the firewall. The truck is a 1989 F 250 4X4 7.3 I can hear the relay clicking behind the duct at the glove box area when I press the horn. The PO must have taken them off for what reason I don't know.
I have the same problem with my horns. The relay clicks but no go. I havent looked into fixing them yet but on my 89 f250 4x4 the horns are located on the drivers side of the truck. I can see them if I look under the bumper up by the left battery holder.
on my '91, both horns are under the d/s battery. mine are very easily seen now since the front bumper is no longer on the truck. (don't ask, it wasn't pretty) not sure what color the wires are as they are all the color of mud at the present time.

I was looking more closer today and I can see wires coming off the drivers side headlight harness going under the headlight. It appears I will have to remove the grill and facia to get to it.
you CAN get to the horns and repair/replace them without removing the grille, but it's not the easiest thing to do. depending on what condition the grille inserts are in, it may be better to PB Blaster the bumper bolts and remove the bumper. my truck had some very brittle inserts and now is held on with zip ties.
Well, I found what was left of the horns under the driver side headlight. One horn rotted off with the wire hanging and the clip in the wire connector and the other horn was not working.
