engine options
302 for milage and light hauling
300 for Working (reasonable at hauling towing and milage)
351 for pulling and hauling, hard on gas.
anything less than 3.55 in the rear and you have no tow capability in my opinion
The 300 doesn't need to rev as high to get the power and torque like the 302 does.
3.33's with a 300 engine, is like having 3.50's with a 302. IMO.
The 300 with the setup you want is going to give you around 15 to 18 MPG, give or take. It's going to be slow, it's not a fast "win races" engine, but it's very dependable, and capable of doing a lot of work. One reason this engine was put into F-600 medium duty trucks at one time.
The 302 is going to be faster. It will need to rev higher to get the same amount of torque and HP. you will get between 10 and 15 mpg with the setup you want. Not a very good engine for a work truck. IMO. This engine is a good choice if you want speed.
The 351w also has good low end torque, simular to the 300, and unlike the 302, and you might get by with the 3.33's but 3.50's would be better. still gas mileage would be around 10 to 15mpg.
Like I said in the other thread, you are going to have to sacrifice either capability, or fuel economy, or go with something inbetween.
what about the clifford performance stuff? like the 6=8 package and stuff.
