oxegen sensor

When i swaped my truck to a 302 i went with headers instead of manifolds and now my oxgen sensor will not reach back to my collector, is it alright to lengthen the wires or will that mess with the information my computor recieves from the oxegen sensor.

You can lengthen the wires as far as I know with no problems. I would solder and heat shrink the connections though.

I'm not sure what year truck you have, but you can enter that information here: Bosch Vehicle Part Finder to see if there is a version with a longer cable available -- I know there is for my 87. It may be long enough, or you may still need longer, you'll have to figure that out.

If you take the tape off the wiring harness at the O2 sensor end back to the split loom you'll be able to pull another 6-12" out, I had no trouble reaching the collector on my longtube headers.
