Reason: added something
autoparts warehouse on line wants 376.00 even if they are a little high priced it seems the labor will kill me as it seems you need some specialized tools to take all you need to take apart to get the damm thing out from all i have been reading its a pain in the **** to get it out half shafts, pinch bolts ect shop labor at the dealer will kill me Im going to bench test the battery and check that out to be sure
ok guys finally got the problem with starting resolved ( I Think) took battery back to store and had them test it on their indoor machine where it puts load, discharges, and trys to charge it and after about 10 minutes it came up with replace battery which i did a die hard and I guess there was something screwy with the battery that would not let it take a charge and alt would not give it the proper voltage but in the mean time i checked with local ford garage and price to replace a alt is 596.00 so a 100.00 battery seems a much better deal to me just wanted you guys to know its fixed
13.85 volts is a little on the low side for an alternator, but still within spec. Usually when these alternators fail, you simply get battery voltage (12v or lower).
When you have a bad battery, this will drop your charging voltage a bit, so I have a feeling the battery is your problem.
